Our Story
A Legacy of Rural Transformation
Founded in 2010, RIALDE emerged from a vision to bridge the gap between agricultural potential and rural poverty. What began as a small farmer support initiative has grown into a regional leader in agro-livestock development.
We work hand-in-hand with communities, governments, and development partners to deliver programs that are culturally appropriate, environmentally sustainable, and economically viable.
Our Focus
Objectives
- To enhance food security and improve livelihoods of communities through sustainable and livestock development practices.
- To promote environmentally sound and climate-smart approaches in crop and livestock production.
- To empower smallholder farmers and livestock keepers through capacity building, access to resources, and market linkages.
- To enhance a quality agricultural inputs such asseeds, fertiklizers,and tools at affordable prices and foster the development of value chains for agricuultural through processesing, storage and marketing support.
- To advocate for policies and programs that support sustainable agricultural development at local and national level.
- To improve animal health and productivity through better breeding practices, diseases, management and nutririon.
- To promote the development of value chains for livestock products such as meat, milk, and hides.
- To promote gender equality in agricultural and livestock activities.
- To foster collaboration and partinerships with government agencies, reseach institutions, other NGOs, and the prive sectors.

RIALDE Founded
Launched with a pilot program supporting 200 smallholder farmers in Kagera Region, Tanzania.
2014
Livestock Program Expansion
Introduced dairy and poultry enterprises reaching 2,000 households.
2018
Regional Recognition
Awarded Best Rural Development NGO by the East Africa Agri-Alliance.
2024
15,000+ Farmers Empowered
Expanded operations across 120 communities with 45 active projects.
